Author David FitzSimmons (a.k.a. Sarah’s dad) stopped by the sixth grade classroom to share about his experiences with writing. He walked the students through some of the choices he has made as an author, which dovetailed nicely with the literary analysis strategies that we have been working on in writing this past week.  Students saw firsthand why Mr. FitzSimmons selected various literary devices and how careful revision can result in worthwhile writing.
