Central Idea: Data sets can be compared to draw conclusions about relationships among them and help us better understand our world. 

6th Grade is actively learning how to collect data and organize that data in a way that can be used to make conclusions and decisions. They tried observing the 5th-grade class but found there were many variables that could not be controlled. This led them to realize that much of their data was inconclusive and had to be thrown out.

Yesterday, students collected data on the distance of various frisbee throws. It was important for each student to throw the frisbee the same amount of times to create a consistent data set.  Today they will explore how the data can be used to draw conclusions and make decisions.
