Celebrating Chaharshanbe Suri

Chaharshanbe Suri, also known as the Persian Festival of Fire, dates back over 3,000 years. This cultural celebration utilizes fire as a purifying symbol. Students were asked to remember the worries and negative thoughts they had at the beginning of the year. We then let go of those negative things as we jumped over the fire. This celebration is a precursor to Nowruz, which occurs the day of the vernal equinox, is a celebration of new life. We look forward to seeing all the good this new year has in store for us!
