Line Of Inquiry- How We Classify Rocks, Minerals, And Soil

Students used a variety of scientific techniques to help identify a sampling of 25 different rocks from those that they classified during week one.  Some of the tests that we used included the streak test, color, fracture and cleavage, hardness, and luster. Students were able to identify the majority of the rocks and minerals with certainty. However, some proved more difficult than others.
