Cells under the microscope!

Central Idea: Systems maintain efficiency through interdependent relationships.

We learned how to prepare our own microscope slides by setting up various onion samples. We used several different solutions including iodine, food coloring, and saline solution to help us make different observations of the onion’s cell structure. We were able to identify some of the nuclei within the cellular structure of the onion.  Friday, we explored human cells by observing both skin and saliva samples. While the saliva portion was difficult, the skin samples yielded some pretty amazing results. After sketching our observations for both the onion cells and human cells, we compared the differences and listed why we thought those differences existed.
