Geometric Nets Are Sweet!

The sixth graders are learning about geometric shapes, including how to find the areas and volumes of 3d shapes and how to construct nets.  Students were given various boxes of candy. They then found the total surface area of the candy boxes, the internal volume of each box, and the ratio of surface area to approximate candy size. I think it’s safe to say, they really enjoyed this particular math lesson.  🙂
