Theme: Where We Are In Place And Time

Central Idea: Favorable geographic characteristics led to the creation of ancient and unique systems which led to current civilizations.

On an impromptu trip to the wonderful Cleveland Art Museum, sixth grade had the remarkable opportunity to enjoy viewing ancient artifacts up close.  Students were able to examine artifacts from many ancient civilizations. Some of the most notable were a cuneiform embellished stone relief from ancient Mesopotamia, a set of rare canopic embalming jars from ancient Egypt, and a pair of Egyptian sarcophaguses. It was a wonderful opportunity, one which we all found immensely valuable.
