Sixth grade produced their very own reenactment of The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen, which we read together as a class.  This tale follows a young prince as he embarks on a treacherous journey to deliver six unique, magical gifts to the king of a mythical city. Along the way, Jen ends up losing or giving away all of his gifts. In fact, he never ends up reaching the fabled city of Tien-Kuo. However, he gains a better understanding of the way his kingdom fails to meet the needs of his people, leading him to stop the evil Natha Yellow-scarf, and ultimately regain control of his kingdom. He becomes a better ruler because he rules his kingdom with compassion and understanding.
